Iron-Bearing Minerals and Their Types ๐ŸŒ

The primary iron-bearing minerals are mainly oxides, and iron ores consist of various types:

  1. Hematite (Fe2O3): Red in color.
  2. Magnetite (Fe3O4): Black in color.
  3. Limonite or Bog-Iron Ore (2Fe2O3ยท3H2O): Brown in color.
  4. Siderite (FeCO3): Pale brown.

Hematite and magnetite are the most common types, with the following iron content:

Pyrite (FeS2), known as "Fool's Gold," contains iron and sulfur but is not a major source of these elements, with 46% iron content.
